  • Plot : Winslow Leach (William Finley) is a disfigured songwriter obsessed with the beautiful Phoenix (Jessica Harper) and he will do anything to get her to sing his music , even if it means making a Faustian bargain with an evil producer ( Paul Williams).

  • Review : 5/5.  A cross between Faust and Phantom of the Opera, Phantom of the Paradise is a true cult gem . Paul Williams' music is an amazing collection of rock classics. Jessica Harper (Shock Treatment) is enchanting as Phoenix and her performance of Old Souls is spine tingling . This film and its soundtrack is incredible.
