The Rocky Horror picture show : let's do the time warp again !

  • Plot :  Television  remake of The Rocky Horror Picture Show starring Laverne Cox as Dr.FranknFurter.
  • Originality : 2.5/5
  • Review : 3/5.  Although well intended , the film falls flat. To remake such an iconic film is dangerous , and this film is a prime example of why that should never be attempted. Laverne Cox is beautiful and glamorous , but Frank was never supposed to be either .. and he wasn't meant to be female. The film reimagines the original and takes several liberties with the original script , but none of the new ideas work . The new music arrangements seem as if they are intended for a Glee episode ( with the notable exception of the new arrangement of Science Fiction/Double Feature) and don't hold a candle to the original soundtrack . The film was made with enthusiasm, but it definitely wasn't needed.
